At the trailer and audio launch of Viswaroopam 2 in the city, Kamal Haasan said the film will be a faithful sequel to the first part, which was released in 2013. He added, “It’s not only a sequel, but also an action-packed prequel. Viswaroopam 2 will shed more light on who Wizam Mohammed Kashmiri is.”

The actor-politician assured that the film will be on par with any Hollywood film. “It’s just a humble beginning for a massive future. Also, I strongly feel that Viswaroopam 2 won’t face opposition from hidden forces like Viswaroopam. Even if anyone opposes the film in future, I am ready to handle the situation as a politician.” Kamal also said Viswaroopam 2 won’t be a vehicle to air his political views. “For me, films and politics are separate. If others mix both, I can’t be held responsible for it.”

Talking about the delay in the release, he clarified it wasn’t because of Raaj Kamal Films International. “But I should thank lyricist Vairmuthu for writing the lines Thadaigalai vendre (winning over difficulties).” Written and directed by Kamal Haasan, the film will be released worldwide on August 10. It also stars Shekhar Kapur, Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, and Waheeda Rehman in important roles.
