Gopi Mohan to follow Kona Venkat’s footsteps

The star screenwriter is all set to don multiple hats

Renowned screenplay and scriptwriter Gopi Mohan seems to be following the footsteps of his partner and writer-filmmaker Kona Venkat as he will be venturing into direction soon. He has prepared two scripts – an untitled emotional drama featuring a star hero, and a romantic drama, Ishtamgaa Santoshamgaa Anandhamgaa, set in the backdrop of India and USA featuring a young hero.

“The talks are on and there are a lot of factors to consider, especially these actors' upcoming films. It has to be seen if one of them can adjust their call sheets to start Gopi’s debut film,” says a source.

Besides direction, Gopi will work as a mentor for a production house to be launched by his NRI friends. “He will give his insights in script selection and help them to identify the young talent in the industry. He will be presenting two concept-based films featuring budding heroes and an announcement on the same will follow in August,” the source adds.

The next projects that will be in focus are Hemant Madhukar’s trilingual silent film and an untitled Sagar Chandra directorial to be bankrolled by 14 Reels Plus, for which Gopi Mohan has written the screenplay.
