Buzz has it that Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0 will not be released this year owing to 'heavy VFX work'. A source close to the film unit says there's pending post-production work, and the makers are, in fact, working towards a 'suitable release date'.

"The post-production took longer than expected, and has forced the makers to postpone the release once again. By the end of this year, we are hoping to complete all work. Meanwhile, Rajini sir has moved on to Karthik Subbaraj's next film, and they're planning to shoot in Darjeeling for a month," adds the source.

Directed by Shankar, the film is the second part of the Enthiran franchise. Also, starring Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, 2.0 is believed to be the most expensive Indian film made yet.
