After a brief hiatus, actor Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in as one of the female leads in a new film starring Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya. The multi-starrer to be backed by Suresh Babu and Kona Venkat will be directed by KS Ravindra alias Bobby.

“Bobby met Rakul for a detailed narration last week and the actor was pleased with her role and characterisation. She agreed on principle, but is yet to sign on the dotted line. With multiple projects in Tamil and Hindi, she has to adjust her call sheets accordingly,” informs a source.

The makers are also in talks with Huma Qureshi for the other lead role (opposite Venkatesh) and a clear picture of her presence in the film will emerge in a week’s time. Tentatively titled Venky Mama, the film will go on floors in August.
