Raj Vardhan to play historical hero in Hamsalekha’s next

CE Features

We reported earlier that Hamsalekha would be directing a history-based subject. We had mentioned at the time that the musician-turned-director had plans to helm a film based on either Gandugali Madakari Nayaka or Raja Bicchugathii Baramanna Nayaka, books written by BL Venu.

An official announcement on this will be shared by the director on his birthday on June 23. Rumours have it that Hamsalekha, known as Naadha Brahma, will be first taking up Raja Bichhugathii Baramanna Nayaka. According to the latest buzz, he is said to have roped in senior actor Dingri Nagaraj’s son Raj Vardhan for the lead in this period drama. Having made his acting debut with Noorondu Nenapu, the actor is said to be getting ready to play the lead character in Bichhugathii, and sources say he is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin of the character.

Raj Vardhan is currently said to be concentrating on horse riding and is on a rigourous fitness regime, pictures of which are surfacing on social media. A few stars were being considered to be part of this historical film, but owing to their prior commitments, Hamsalekha decided to go with a newcomer who can completely commit to the project.

If all goes as per plan, this film will definitely boost Raj Vardhan’s career. The actor has completed shooting for his other projects - FLY and IRA - but they have gotten stuck for various reasons. This historical film will be like a re-launch for this 6-foot-tall hero.
