Maradona set for release this week

The Tovino Thomas-starrer is directed by Vishnu Narayan and has no connection to football

Tovino Thomas' new film Maradona, which was supposed to be released in the first week of July, will now hit the screens this Friday. As per director Vishnu Narayan, Maradona is a feel-good film with romance, family and thriller elements and has no connection to football.

Tovino is paired opposite newcomer Sharanya R Nair. Tito Wilson, who played the character of U-Clamp Rajan in Angamaly Diaries, appears in the role of Tovino's best friend. Maradona is written by Krishnamoorthy, who has in the past worked with Lijo Jose Pellissery and Dileesh Pothan.

Director Vishnu Narayan has worked as an associate of Aashiq Abu, Sameer Thahir, and Dileesh Pothan. Deepak D Menon is the film's cinematographer, Sushin Shyam the music composer and Saiju Sreedharan the editor.

Maradona is produced by Mini Studio, an offshoot of Dhanush's Wunderbar Films.
