Sarath Kumar’s next based on a horrific crime

Last seen in Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2, Sarath Kumar is all set to don the khaki once again in the upcoming action thriller, Velachery Thuppakki Soodu. Directed by ST Vendan, who is known for films like Inba, starring Shaam and Sneha, and Mayanginen Thayanginen, starring Nithin Sathya, the film is said to be based on a real-life robbery and shootout incident that happened in Chennai during 2012. 

The film produced by T Rajeshwari’s VR Movies features Iniya playing the role of a human rights activist. The conversations between her and Sarath Kumar, who plays an encounter cop, are said to be the highlight of the film. Though both actors starred in 2013’s Chennaiyil Oru Naal, this will be the first time they will be sharing screen space with each other. 

Also starring, Nizhalgal Ravi, Imman Annachi, and Pandi, the shooting of  Velachery Thuppakki Soodu is currently ongoing in Chennai. 

Meanwhile, Sarath Kumar is also working on films like Paamban, Rendavathu Aattam and Adangathey.
