Achari America Yatra release postponed

It’s advantage Bhaagamathie as the release of Vishnu Manchu’s comic caper Achari America Yatra (AAY) has been indefinitely postponed. The film, also starring Brahmanandam and Pragya Jaiswal in pivotal roles, was initially scheduled to hit the screens on January 26, the same day as the Anushka-starrer. However, according to a source, the film hasn’t cleared the censors and hence the makers have decided to push the release to a later date.

“The team had applied for the censor certification but they couldn’t get an exact time slot to complete the process. As the release date is approaching, the makers thought it’s not wise to stick to the announced date as the censor formalities are taking longer than expected and have agreed to defer the release after having a word with the distributors. So, Bhaagamathie alone is hitting the screens this Friday,” reveals the source.

A new release date is yet to be announced by the makers of AAY. Directed by G Nageswara Reddy, the film's story is by renowned writer Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy and is based on a multi-million dollar call centre scam that topped the headlines in 2016.
