Ravi Varma’s directorial debut to be launched on April 24

The south Indian stuntmaster, who has also been associated with Bollywood films, is all set to direct Shivarajkumar

Ravi Varma, who established himself as stuntmaster in the south and in Bollwyood, will soon make his directorial debut. Titled Rustum, the film, made under Jayanna Combines, will have Tagaru star Shivarajkumar in the lead. The actor will yet again play a cop in the film. Currently in the pre-production stage, the formal launch of Rustum is likely to take place on April, 24, on Dr Rajkumar’s birth anniversary, and the shooting will begin in May according to our source.

The team is in the process of finalising the cast now. Meanwhile, Ravi Varma has already picked his technicians, with Anoop Seelin coming on-board as music director and Naveen Kumar of Mufti fame set to take care of Rustum’s cinematographer.

Ravi Varma is currently busy with stuntwork for Orange. The film, starring Ganesh and Priya Anand, is directed by Prashant Raj, and is currently being shot in Hyderabad.

Shivarajkumar’s Tagaru released last week, and he has been receiving rave reviews for his role. The actor, who has his hands full, is juggling between Prem’s The Villain and Kavacha. His next projects include Lakki Gopal’s SRK and Rustum.
