Ranjith Sankar has finished scripting for his next Njan Marykutty, starring Jayasurya in the lead. According to him, the film will go on the floors on March 15.

The director took to Facebook to announce the shooting date, adding, "And this is the most tiring and trying script I've ever attempted. Hope the enormous effort and time that will be needed to shoot it will be all worth it."

While speculations are rife that Njan Marykutty will address the issues faced by transgender people, director Ranjith Sankar, in an earlier interview, had told Cinema Express that the film will handle a very sensitive topic. However, the makers have not yet revealed the details of the subject or the cast and crew.

Meanwhile, Jayasurya's latest release Captain, a biopic on the late footballer VP Sathyan, is currently running in theatres.
