We were the first to tell you Trisha and Priyamani would be teaming up for a film directed by Verniq, a former associate of Bala. The project has been titled Kuttrappayirchi. A statement from the makers read, "Trisha will be seen as a private detective, and her character is loosely based on Rajani Pandit, India’s first woman detective."

It is believed that this will be the first time a heroine will be seen playing a detective in the history of Tamil cinema. The story is set in the 1980s and the supporting cast of this film includes Surbhi and Super Subbarayan.

To be produced by G Vivekanandan, the film will have music by Radhan of Arjun Reddy fame.
