Ravi Shankar joins the cast of Ayogya

Express Features

Ravi Shankar, famous for his antagonist roles, is one actor who is currenlty spoilt for choices. His recent outing College Kumar is a classic example of his appeal. Ravi’s next venture, the upcoming film Rajaratha, has him playing yet another unique role.

Now, the actor joins the cast of Ayogya as Bacche Gowda. The film, which marks the directorial debut of Mahesh, stars Sathish Ninasam and Rachita Ram in the lead roles. Ravi will play a negative role in the film.

Director Mahesh, who started with his second schedule recently, tells us that Ravi Shankar plays the role of a grama panchayat president. The director says that Sathish, who is a member of this Panchayat, has a face off with Ravi Shankar over different issues. “The president is a character who will not even construct a toilet in his village, while Sathish is working to change the face of the local political system. Shankar is playing such a character for the first time,” he says. As per the schedule of the film, shooting is expected to be completed in the next 10 days.

Produced by Crystal Park Cinemas, most of the film’s portions have been shot in Mandya. Ayogya also has Chikkanna, Rangayana Raghu and Ravishankar in prominent roles. V Harikrishna has composed the music for the film, with lyrics by Yogaraj Bhat. Preeth is the film’s cinematographer.
