Tamil Film Producers Council president Vishal has announced that actor-director Parthiban has been elected as the new vice president of the council. Parthiban replaces Gautham Menon, who was recently accused of being irregular to council meetings. The announcement was made at an executive council meeting held to discuss the recent issues within the council. Around 300 producers recently protested against Vishal and the other office-bearers, questioning their decisions. The actor was then temporarily detained for attempting to break into the premises which had been locked by one of the dissenting members.
