Sonal Monteiro, who is currently awaiting the release of Yogaraj Bhat’s directorial Panchatantra, has now signed Talwar Pete, a film that marks the directorial debut of brothers Ram and Lakshman.

Sonal made her acting debut with the Tulu film, Eka Saka. Talwar Pete will be her sixth Kannada film. Produced by Shailesh, and with music by Charan Raj, the film will feature Sonal as a village belle. The rest of the cast will be confirmed soon, before the team starts shooting in January.

We hear that the makers have approached Vasishta Simha to play the lead and are only awaiting the actor's confirmation. The villain-turned-hero is currently shooting for Nagathihalli Chandrashekar’s yet-to-be-titled film, which has Manvitha Kamath playing the female lead. Sonal, meanwhile, is filming for her Bollywood debut, Saajan Chale Sasural 2.
