It is raining updates from the Petta team on social media. After releasing their first single, Marana Mass, on Monday, to tremendous reception, the team revealed the much-awaited character poster of Vijay Sethupathi, who will be starring opposite Rajinikanth for the first time in his career.

The poster shows as Jithu, a menacing, scar-faced, gun-toting Vijay Sethupathi, with a blood-spattered shawl wrapped around him, sitting on a chair inside what seems to be a church, with a silhouetted Rajinikanth present in the background.

With music by Anirudh Ravichander, the second single will be out on Friday, followed by the rest of the album on December 9. The trailer is expected to be launched on December 12 to celebrate Rajinikanth's 68th birthday.

Produced by Sun Pictures, the Karthik Subbaraj-directed multi-starrer, featuring names like Simran, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sasikumar and Bobby Simha, will be releasing this Pongal, alongside yet another biggie in the form of Ajith's Viswasam.
