Documentary on Alex Ferguson on the cards

Reports suggest that a documentary on former Manchester United manager and one of the most celebrated personalities in World football, Alex Ferguson, is being planned. The documentary, funded by DNA Films and Passion Pictures, will be the directorial debut for Alex's son Jason.

Alex, who has been uncomfortable about making a film on his life, is said to have green-lighted the project after extensive discussions with the makers about their filmmaking process.

The documentary is reported to be a personal and revealing account of the life and times of one of the English Premier League's most successful managers, from his humble beginnings at the working-class district of Govan in Glasgow to Old Trafford to the ICU ward at Salford Royal Hospital where, earlier this year, Alex recovered from a life-threatening brain haemorrhage.

The documentary's shoot is set to begin in October
