Eva Longoria joins Dora the Explorer

Best known for her role, Gabrielle Solis, in Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria is the latest actor to join the cast of Dora the Explorer. She is expected to play the mother of the titular character essayed by Isabela Moner in the live-action feature. 

Dora the Explorer was an animated television series that ran for eight seasons from 2000-2014 on Nickelodean. It followed the journey of a young Latina girl who went on adventures around the world. The film, however, will center on Dora as a teenager moving to a new city and a new school, who then leads a ragtag group of teenagers and her best friend Boots, a monkey, on an adventure to save her parents and solve a seemingly impossible mystery behind the lost Inca civilisation. 

Directed by James Bobin and produced by Kristin Burr, the film is currently in production in Australia and will be released by Paramount worldwide on August 2, 2019.
