Recently, there have been speculations that Trisha will be playing an important role in Rajinikanth's next film. And now, a new rumour has started to make rounds stating that Malavika Mohanan, who rose to fame through Beyond the Clouds, is a part of the Karthik Subbaraj project. 

If true, the yet-to-be-titled Sun Pictures production venture will mark the actor's debut in Tamil cinema. Malavika, daughter of the famous Malayalam cinematographer KU Mohanan, made her acting debut alongside Dulquer Salmaan in Pattam Pole in 2013. She then went on to act in films like Nirnayakam and The Great Father. 

Also starring big names from the industry like Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Simran, the Karthik Subbaraj directorial is said to be an out-and-out commercial entertainer featuring Rajinikanth in the role of a college professor.
