If the reports are anything to go by, Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor will make his Telugu debut with Nagarjuna and Nani’s multi-starrer Devadas. The Rang De Basanti actor may be roped in to play the antagonist in the film being directed by Sriram Adittya.

“After tossing around a few names, including Vivek Oberoi and Neil Nitin Mukesh, the team has decided to cast Kunal as the villain. It’s one of the best negative roles and Kunal, too, was pleased with the way Sriram Adittya has conceived the character,” says a source.

Except for the portions involving the antagonist, the entire talkie portions of the film have been wrapped up. Rashmika Mandanna and Aakanksha Singh are playing the female leads in the film, while Sampoornesh Babu appears in a cameo.

Produced by Ashwini Dutt Chalasani, the film has music by Mani Sharma and is slated for release on September 27. It may be recalled that Kunal has made his South Indian debut with the Malayalam epic historical drama, Veeram in 2016.
