After releasing the first look of NTR biopic, featuring Balakrishna in the titular role, producers Vibri Media made another blockbuster announcement yesterday when they revealed that they are producing a biopic on the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor J Jayalalithaa.

Speaking to us, producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri of Vibri Media says, "We have been working on 83, the story of the World Cup winning team for the past five years, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Kabir Khan, and on the NTR biopic for the past two and half years with Balayya sir. We felt that the next big story can only be that of Jayalalithaa madam. The kind of background she came from and the struggles she faced in her life -- it is a roller coaster ride and an inspirational story." Clarifying that it will not be based on the book Amma, written by Vasanthi, he adds, "However, it is based on a book, which, for obvious reasons, we can't reveal."

Vibri Media had only one person in mind when choosing their director. "Vijay was our first and last name. Through his earlier films like Madrasapattinam and Dheiva Thirumagal, he has shown he can handle emotions well. He is also someone who understands Tamil Nadu politics and we are confident that he can make the film as per our vision."

Director Vijay confirms that talks were on for a month before he signed the project, adding, "The film is a trilingual and will be shot in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. It won't be dubbed."

While neither the director nor producer would confirm who the lead is, Vishnu affirms, "When we announce the name of the star, the entire country is going to be spellbound."
