While it's known that Simran is a part of the upcoming Rajinikanth-Karthik Subbaraj film, with the actor expected to play Superstar's pair, speculations are now rife that Trisha has been roped in to play a crucial role.

Despite being in the industry for almost two decades, the latter, who was recently seen in Mohini, has not been a part of any Rajinikanth film till date. If the buzz is true, this will mark her first collaboration with Superstar. Incidentally, Trisha made her on-screen debut with a cameo in Jodi, which starred Simran in the female lead.

The star value of the Karthik Subbaraj project seems to be increasing by the day, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Mercury-fame Sananth and Munishkanth confirmed to be playing important roles. The film, which has music by Anirudh, is said to feature Rajinikanth in the role of a college professor.

The first schedule of the Sun Pictures production venture was wrapped up in Darjeeling last month and the second is expected to begin soon in Dehradun.
