Director Balaji Mohan took to Twitter to announce the successful completion of the shooting of Maari 2, the sequel to the 2015 Dhanush-starrer Maari

Dhanush, reprising his role of the good-at-heart gangster, is once again joined by the comedy duo of Robo Shankar and Vinod. The Balaji-directorial also stars Krishna, Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas and Premam-fame Sai Pallavi. 

Dhanush, who is bankrolling the project under his banner Wunderbar Films, also took to social media and expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew of Maari 2, including music director Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematographer Om Prakash.  

With the first instalment becoming a very important role in Dhanush's career, a lot is expected from the sequel that is set for release later this year. In an interesting development, the actor also hinted at the possibility of Maari 3.
