Vishal Bhardwaj introduced the five main characters of his upcoming directorial, Pataakha, today. The film tells the story of two warring sisters, Badki (Radhika Madan) and Chhutki (Sanya Malhotra), who grow up in feudal Rajasthan and learn to value each other after being separated by marriage.

Comedian Sunil Grover plays the character of Dipper Narad Muni, named after the mythological saint with a diplomatic wit. Actors Vijay Raaz and Saanand Verma play the two grooms, Bechara Babu and Tharki Patel, respectively.

Vishal Bhardwaj has helmed critically-acclaimed films like Maqbool, Kaminey and Haider. His last directorial venture was Rangoon starring Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor. The 53-year-old filmmaker was earlier prepping a project with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, which was shelved due to Irrfan’s ailing health condition.

Produced by Vishal Bhardwaj Films, B4U Motion Pictures and KYTA Productions, Pataakha is scheduled for release on September 28.
