Vijay tries hand at Godavari accent

CE Features

The shooting of Dear Comrade, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, has recently commenced in Thondangi, East Godavari district. While the film shows Rashmika as a cricketer, Vijay plays a college-goer from Kakinada.

We hear, Vijay, who is known for delivering dialogues in colloquial Telangana accent, is now trying to get ahold of the Godavari dialect for his role in this film. “Vijay has learnt chaste Godavari words. Since the director is familiar with the local lingo, he has been helping the actor to work on the fluency. It’s not the typical rural slang, but a neutral accent which was commonly spoken by the college-going youth of the Port City,” says a source.

The first half of the film will be shot in this schedule for 30 days. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Big Ben Cinemas, the film marks the debut of Bharat Kamma as the director.
