We had previously reported that GV Prakash is teaming up with director Vasanthabalan, known for his hard-hitting films like Veyil, Angadi Theru, Aravaan, and Kaaviya Thalaivan, for his next. This film, which marks the director's return after a hiatus of four years, is titled Jail. The first look posters of the film, featuring GV Prakash in a rugged look, were released yesterday. The composer-turned-actor shared them on Twitter and revealed that his character's name in the film is Karuna.

Jail, produced by Sridharan Mariadhasan under his Krikes Cine Creations banner, features Abarnathi of Enga Veetu Mappillai fame as its female lead. The film also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar and Baahubali-fame Prabhakar. With dialogues from Ramakrishnan and Bakkiyam Shankar, the film has cinematography by Ganesh Chandhrra, editing by Aruvi-fame Raymond Derrick Crasta, and music by GV Prakash himself. Interestingly, the latter made his debut as a composer in Vasanthabalan's Veyil in 2006.
