With the audio of Rajinikanth's gangster drama Kaala scheduled for launch on May 9, Dhanush, the producer of the film, has surprised fans by announcing that the first single from the film, Semma Weightu, will be launched tomorrow. 

Interestingly, a few months ago, the composer of the film, Santhosh Narayanan, had asked the audience to vote for their favourite sound to be featured in Rajinikanth's intro song in the film. The composer took to Twitter on Saturday to thank the fans for their support, adding that the team wanted to "make you all a part of the album and will have some very special announcements." A day later, he wrote, "I have always had this dream of recording a million voices in a song and have the perfect opportunity in a song from Kaala. It would be a great honour recording people from all walks of life."

Kaala, co-starring Samuthirakani, Nana Patekar, and Huma Qureshi, marks the second association of Rajinikanth and filmmaker Ranjith. All the three versions of the film--Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu--are set to be released internationally on June 9.
