Following director Teja’s exit from NTR, the much-awaited biopic on the legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, we hear, Balakrishna will be donning the director’s hat for the film. With veteran director K Raghavendra Rao and others showing no interest in directing the film owing to their apprehensions, producers Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri have convinced Balakrishna to helm the project, assuring the actor that he will have complete creative freedom to direct the film with no interference of any sort.

“After Teja walked out of NTR, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri approached Raghavendra Rao to check if he was interested in directing this biopic. Much to their dismay, the veteran director politely refused to take the mantle and offered creative supervision if any other director agrees to come on board. After dilly-dallying with a lot of names and initial resentment from Balakrishna, the producers have managed to convince the Simha actor to direct the project himself under the supervision of Raghavendra Rao,” says a source.

If everything falls into place, the biopic will mark the directorial debut of Balakrishna, and the film’s principal shooting will commence in the third week of May in Hyderabad. MM Keeravani and Sai Madhav Burra will be providing the music and dialogues for NTR.
