With the TFPC strike concluded, the shooting of Suriya - Selvaraghavan's film NGK commenced from Saturday in Chennai. One of the film's lead, Rakul Preet, who was seen in last year's Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, took to her Twitter to confirm that she has joined the film sets from its first day. NGK also has Sai Pallavi playing another female lead whose scenes were shot in the first schedule before the strike began. According to sources, a humongous village set has been erected in Chennai and a major portion of the film will be shot here.

Said to be an action thriller, the film will have Yuvan composing the music while Sivakumar Vijayan will handle the cinematography. In a chat with CE, the film's producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures had previously stated that NGK will make its way to the screens this Diwali, but with the strike delaying the schedule, it's not clear if the film will keep up with its release date.
