Reports are abuzz that Nayanthara has been roped in for a female-centric Malayalam film titled Kottayam Kurbana. A source close to the actor has confirmed this to CE.

The source adds, "Once she's relieved of her existing commitments, she'll begin shooting for this film."

The actor's last film in Malayalam was Puthiya Niyamam (2016), where she shared screen space with Mammootty. She's also said to be a part of Dhyan Sreenivasan’s upcoming directorial debut, Love Action Drama, which stars Nivin Pauly in the lead.

Nayanthara has Kolamaavu Kokila ready for release, and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Viswasam, Aramm 2, and an untitled thriller by filmmaker Arivazhagan, all in various stages of production.
