Contrary to reports that were doing the rounds earlier, Atlee has clarified that his upcoming film will be in Tamil. Previously, there were rumours that he was going to direct a film in Telugu starring a top actor in Tollywood. A few reports had, in fact, suggested he was going to collaborate with Prabhas, after the filmmaker confirmed at a recent award function that his Telugu debut with a big star was on the cards. 

But since it looks like that project will take more time to take off than expected, Atlee will do a film in Tamil first. During the time of Mersal's release, he had told us in an interview that he'd direct Vijay once again after Theri and Mersal. However, it is unknown at this time, if this is the Tamil project he will be working on next.
