The director of Maari 2, Balaji Mohan, who also helmed the first part took to Twitter to announce updates about the project. He revealed that the sequel will be a bilingual shot separately in Tamil and Telugu. He also tweeted that the heroine of the film will be revealed today evening at 6 PM. The film stars Dhanush in the lead and Tovino Thomas as the antagonist.
