After Shruti Haasan walked out of Sangamitra, rumours were abuzz that Hansika or Nayanthara may star in Sundar C's ambitious project. Now we hear that Bollywood actress Disha Patani is likely to play that role.

Set in 8th century AD, the story will follow Sangamitra's struggles as she saves her kingdom. Sources say the makers had met the actress a month ago and signed her up. However, an official announcement is awaited.

Sangamitra, which has Jayam Ravi and Arya in the lead, will be made in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
