Looks like there's no stopping Rana Daggubati when it comes to doing off-beat roles. With Naan Aanaiyittaal (Nene Raju Nene Mantri's Tamil dubbed version) releasing tomorrow, the Baahubali star has signed his next, a Telugu-Tamil bilingual in which he'll play the role of a scientist. 

Directed by Dhwanil Mehta based on a story penned by Yogesh Joshi, the film will talk about the disappearance of the steamship, SS Vaitarna that went off the radar whilst on the way to Mumbai from Mandvi, off the coast of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, in a cyclonic storm back in 1888. The disaster, which led to more than 740 people going missing, has led to many nautical lores and the ship is often dubbed as the Titanic of Gujarat even though the RMS Titanic sank 24 years later. 

Sources say that Rana was excited about the script and agreed to it despite playing a naval commander in this year's release Ghazi, which was about the sinking of the PNS Ghazi submarine during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
