Ramaleela  to hit the screens on Sept 28

Express Features

Putting all speculations to rest, Dileep-starrer Ramaleela will hit the marquee on Sept 28. This was confirmed by director Arun Gopy. He told CE that the makers have unanimously decided to release the movie on this date. "We have consulted with Dileep about the decision as well. He is also in favour of releasing the movie this month," says Arun.

Ramaleela, which has Dileep playing a disgraced politician, had been pending for some time. However, according to the director, Dileep's arrest is unlikely to have any effect on the movie's fate at the box office. "One may see or think about Dileep for the first five or six minutes, then it is the world of Ramanunni that is being played before you. I believe that we have made a good movie, and I am sure that the people will love it," says Arun. He added that he is not really worried about the outcome of the movie.

"Any movie, irrespective of its cast or crew, will work only if the audience loves it.  This is a team work, and we are not concerned about anything else other than delivering a good product.  The rest we leave up to the audience," says the director.

Ramaleela, produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, also has Radhika Sarathkumar, Prayaga Martin, Siddique and Vijaya Raghavan in important roles. The release of the movie, the shoot of which was wrapped up in the second week of June, had to be postponed several times following the actor assault case and Dileep's subsequent arrest.
