While it's raining sequels in Tamil cinema lately, the one that a lot of people are eagerly awaiting is the sequel to CS Amudhan's 2010 spoof film Thamizh Padam starring Shiva. The latest update is that Amudhan has written the lyrics for the opening song of the film.

Talking to CE about it, Amudhan says, "This track will not be similar to Pacha Manja (the introduction song of Thamizh Padam). It will also be a spoof song, but the concept behind it will be different." This isn't the first time Amudhan is writing lyrics for a song. In the past, he's written Maddy Maddy in Minnale, Oh Mahazeeya in Thamizh Padam and YOLO in Anegan.

"We've registered the film as TP 2.0, but we might change it in the next few days," says the director, who confirms that Shiva and the rest of the cast from the original will return for the sequel. "It'll be a sequel, but there aren't any story elements that are being taken from the first film," he adds.

While the heroine is yet to be finalised, the shooting is scheduled to commence from November 27. Y Not Studios, which bankrolled Vikram Vedha, will be producing this film that'll have Kannan's music and TS Suresh as the editor.
