Jackky in Hindi remake of Pelli Choopulu

Actor Jackky Bhagnani will be seen in a Hindi remake of Telugu film Pelli Choopulu, and it will be set in Gujarat. The yet-untitled romantic comedy drama will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Phantom Films.

“I’ve made some changes in the original script so that the Hindi film audience can connect with it,” Kakkar said in a statement.

Jackky has been shooting in Ahmedabad for the project. Interestingly, he has played a Gujarati before in Ashish Mohan’s Welcome 2 Karachi. The original film, Pelli Choopulu, featured Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma, and bagged two National Film Awards. It begins with the pellichoopulu or arranged meeting between the two leads.
