Will Smith, who is known for films such as Independence Day, Men in Black and the supervillain film Suicide Squad, will be teaming up with Tom Holland, who played Spiderman in Spider-Man: Homecoming, for the animated spy film Spies in Disguise.

Based on the short film, Pigeon: Impossible, which is about a pigeon who somehow gets stuck in a nuclear briefcase, the new film is to be produced by 20th Century Fox’s Animation department. Smith will voice Lance Sterling, a super spy who is turned into a pigeon by inventor Walter Beckett (voiced by Holland). The pair team up with a gang of real pigeons and a group of techies to try and stop a villain.

Scheduled to release in January 2019, Spies in Disguise will be directed by Nick Bruno, who helmed The Peanuts Movie
