With Motta Siva Ketta Siva and Sivalinga failing to click at the box-office, Raghava Lawrence has started shooting for Kanchana 3, probably pining his hopes on the ever-reliable Muni franchise. According to sources, the film's first schedule will be shot in Chennai until the end of the month.

Directed by Lawrence himself, the film features three female leads, Vedhika, Oviya and debutante Nikita. It is believed that the third instalment in the Kanchana series, a sequel to Kanchana 2, will be shot on a lavish budget. Vetri, the cinematographer of Ajith's Vivegam and Vedalam, has been signed for the film.

The producers, Sun Pictures, have apparently planned to complete the film within three months. Kanchana 3 will most likely hit theatres by the summer of 2018.
