‘I have been waiting for Dhruva Sarja since 2013’

Express Features

Dhruva Sarja has proved his mettle with three success in a row--Addhuri, Bahaddhur and the latest Bharjari. The bankable hero is in demand and has a line of filmmakers waiting to work with the new star of Sandalwood. However, the actor has given the green signal to just one project. Dhruva, who is to start work on Poguru directed by Nanda Kishore, will be associating with Uday Mehta for his fifth project.

The producer confirms this news to CE, adding that he looks forward to working with the star. He says, “I have been following up with him for dates from 2013, when I did Bachchan and could get his dates only now. I have always wanted to work with him, ever since his first film… but, back then, Dhruva was committed to three projects. He had no dates and I waited, now the opportunity came up and I grabbed it.”

With his popularity, the actor is said to be charging a bomb for every project, and we hear that it is on par with any big star today. And, producers are ready to offer him whatever he asks. “I don’t want to talk about payment, we are definitely paying him his current fee and whatever he deserves,” says Mehta.

The actor had committed dates to Uday, even before Bharjari release. The producer had gauged Dhruva’s talent and knew that he would soon rise to the top league. Uday’s next step is to finalise the script and find a director, both of which will be done by November.
