AR Rahman walks out of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy?

Express Features

Chiranjeevi's dream project Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Nasser, was also supposed to have a sound technical crew with AR Rahman composing the music.

But, sources close to the film unit say that the makers of the film have had a minor misunderstanding with the Oscar award-winning composer, and while AR Rahman is said to be keen on walking out of the project, the makers are trying to convince him to stay.

It's predicted that Thaman might take over the music director duties as he had previously composed the tune for the sneak peak which was released recently.

Meanwhile, there are also rumours that ace cinematographer Ravi Varman who was previously believed to be a part of this magnum opus, will not be able to be a part of the project owing to other commitments. Another source reveals that while director Surender Reddy has tried to rope in Nirav Shah as the cinematographer, it looks like Rathnavelu might nab the part. Chiranjeevi was apparently impressed with Rathavelu's work in his comeback film Khaidi No 150. Incidentally, Rathnavelu is also a part of Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan's Rangasthalam. However, official confirmation has not been received.
