Shibu Thameens, producer of Puli and Iru Mugan, has snapped up the Kerala theatrical rights of Irumbu Thirai for a whopping price. Vishal, whose Thupparivalan was well-received in Kerala, recently made his Malayalam debut opposite Mohanlal in Villain.

Directed by newcomer Mithran, Irumbu Thirai is an action thriller that also stars Arjun and Samantha, and is slated for a Pongal release next year. Samantha plays Vishal’s romantic interest in the film, while Arjun plays the antagonist in this film, which is expected to be about cyber terrorism
