Express Features

Sony Pictures has won the auction to finance and distribute #9, the working title of Quentin Tarantino’s next film allegedly based on the Manson Family Murders. The film will be set in Los Angeles in the late ’60s and early ’70s. The filmmaker reportedly wants to cast Margot Robbie in the role of actor Sharon Tate, who was murdered by the Manson family, a cult led by Charles Manson.

The film is said to be a multi-starrer, with Quentin holding talks with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio for the two lead roles. It is unclear who among those will be part of the project, which will go into production next year.
