Isha Koppikar back in Kannada for Oppam remake

A Sharadhaa

Isha Koppikar is back with the cop act. The Bollywood actor, who is also an established face in Telugu and Tamil cinema, was last seen playing ACP Nisha in the Kannada film Loot released early this year. Now, she will again play a cop in the Kannada remake of Oppam.

The actor will be sharing screen space with Shivarajkumar, who for the first time will play a visually impaired person. The crime thriller made under Hayagreeva Kala Chitra has GVR Vasu making his directorial debut.

Isha is no stranger to Kannada cinema. She made her Kannada debut with Hoo Anthiya Uhoo Anthiya and later worked on films such as O Nanna Nale with Ravichandran and Surya Vamsha in which she was paired opposite Vishnuvardhan.

The Oppam remake team is scouting for another heroine and will finalise a name soon. Meanwhile, they have roped in Vasishta Simha, to play the villain, who is sharing screen space with Shivarajkumar for the third time in row after Mufti and Tagaru. A Sampath Kumar, who is producing the film along with MVV Sathyanarayana, has already roped in Malayalam child artiste Baby Meenakshi for the Kannada version too. On the technical front, Arjun Janya will be scoring the music and cinematography will be by Rahul.

The plan is to start shooting a day after the film's official launch on November 23. Shivarajkumar, who is done with shooting for Suri’s Tagaru, is waiting for The Villain team to sort out the schedule, and will shuttle between the two sets.
