About two weeks ago, there were rumours going around that Warner Bros would be making a TV series in the Lord of the Rings franchise, which left fans in a frenzy. Despite spanning two trilogies, the universe created by JRR Tolkien in 1954 still seems to have its fandom wanting more. Now, it looks like Amazon has nabbed the show and has asked for it be made as a multi-season show. It'll be set before the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first instalment in the Rings trilogy.

While it's speculated that the story might talk about the younger version of the heroes, considering vast possibilities of the universe, there aren't any shortage of stories. Sources also add that, if the series gets the expected number of views, there might also be a spinoff which will deviate from the main storyline.
