Russian film fest opens in Delhi

The third edition of the Russian film festival titled Russian Film Days opened in Delhi on Friday in the presence of Russian actress Kseniya Ryabinkina, who worked with legendary actor Raj Kapoor in Mera Naam Joker, actress Hema Malini, who is also the head of Indo-Russian Friendship committee actor-producer-director Randhir Kapoor and Russian Ambassador to India Nikolay Kudashev. The fest is open for cinema lovers until Sunday.

The event featured the screening of 2017 Russian Drama film, Bolshoi which was presented by its director Valery Todorovsky.

Talking about the festival, Randhir said: "I am delighted over the tribute paid to my father and Mera Naam Joker. Russian Film Days is a great initiative between the Indian and Russian film fraternity. It serves as a brilliant platform for Indian audiences to explore Russian films and get to know about their culture".

Reminiscing her visit to Moscow for the fourth edition of Indian Film Festival of Russia, Hema said: " I was overwhelmed to see the response of Russian cinema enthusiasts who liked my work in the movie Seeta and Geeta. I think, through this festival, Indian audiences should also experience the best of Russian cinema."

The festival will also be traveling to Mumbai (November 13-15) and Goa (November 21-28) at International Film Festival of India.

During the festival, the Indian audience will also be witness to Russian premieres of the films The Ghost of Sonora, Yana+Yanko, Kitchen Final Battle, Attraction, Fantastic journey to Oz, Spacewalkers and Anna Karenina - Vronsiy's story.
