Director K Balakrishnan, who helmed the 2014 Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Rummy, is currently working on a film titled Kathayudham which will star Guru Somasundaram of Joker fame and Rahman who made heads turn with Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru.

Talking to CE about the film, Balakrishna says, "It will be a story about two men who have their own wishes and aims." The film, with Sushma Raj of India Pakistan fame as the heroine, also stars Kaali Venkat and Thulasi.

"We're still working on the casting and are planning to rope in a few more well-known faces for the supporting roles and humour portions," adds the director who has completed the first schedule of the film. "The first schedule happened in Pudhukottai and the next will happen in Chennai, followed by Pollachi and Kerala. We're just waiting for the rains to subside."

This emotional drama, which will apparently have a high dose of humour, is produced by Sri Valli Studios who also produced Rummy.
