Express Features

Dhanush, who has had a great year so far with his directorial debut Pa Paandi and Velaiyilla Pattadhari 2 doing well at the box office, also worked on his first Hollywood film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir. The poster and first look images of the film, based on Romain Puertolas's novel The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea, were released on Wednesday, and in reference to the book's title, the poster has Dhanush and the rest of the cast sitting atop a wardrobe.

The film has impressed a number of distributors who have bought a majority of the international rights already. Directed by Ken Scott, it explores the journey of a fakir who tricks people into believing that he has special powers. The film, which was shot in Mumbai, Brussels, Rome and France, also stars Oscar-nominated actress Berenice Bejo.
