Speculations abound that Samuthirakani has been appraoached to be a part of the cast of Rajinikanth's next, which will be directed by Pa Ranjith. A source close to the National award winning actor, when asked for comment, said they could neither confirm nor deny the report.

Thalaivar 161, as the movie has been christened by fans until the official title is announced, goes on floors on May 28th, and there have been a lot of casting rumours going around about the film. One such rumour, about Huma Qureshi being part of the project, was later confirmed. We will have to wait and watch to see if this news about Samuthirakani being a part of  the movie turns out to be true as well.
