Shahid still feels like a ‘student’ in Bollywood

Shahid Kapoor, who recently completed 14 years as part of the Hindi film industry, says he still feels like a student in the world of cinema.

The 36-year-old actor made his acting debut with a lead role in the 2003-romantic comedy Ishq Vishk, and has since won acclaim with films like Jab We Met, Kaminey, Haider and Udta Punjab. Before his launch as a lead actor, the trained dancer worked as a backup dancer in many films.

The actor took to Twitter to thank his fans: “Thanks peeps for the many wishes. Fourteen years of doing what I love. Beauty of cinema, you always feel like a student. Too much to learn.”

He followed it up with another tweet: “Too much to achieve. Too little time. Time to put my blinders on and run like there’s no tomorrow. Gratitude and love. For believing in me.”

Shahid is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. The film also features Deepika Padukone in the titular role as Rani Padmini, and Ranveer Singh, as Alauddin Khilji. Shahid will play the role of Rawal Ratan Singh.
