Ben Hardy in Queen biopic

The actor played Archangel in X-Men: Apocalypse

Ben Hardy has been roped in to essay the role of drummer Roger Taylor in a biopic on the band Queen.

"Ben caught the eye of producers and he has worked with director Bryan Singer on X-Men. After a couple of screen tests, the makers decided he was the perfect man for the job and signed him up. He's very excited," a source says.

"But he's got plenty of work to do before filming starts. He's only just started taking drumming lessons to get up to scratch," the source adds.

He will star alongside Rami Malek in the upcoming biopic that will follow Queen's journey up to their appearance at the Live Aid concert in 1985.

Movie makers are still busy trying to cast two more actors to take on the roles of Brian May and John Deacon.
